ABOUT
“somewhere between Springsteen and Steve Earle” -The Welcomat
Eddie Seville gained a reputation for visceral live shows and gritty songwriting as the voice and creative force behind the outlaw rock band Steel Rodeo. As a solo artist, he’s an engaging raconteur with a quotable wit and a bold narrative that’s left a trail of grins, winks and nods in theaters, roadhouses and festivals around the continental US, Europe and Canada.
Drawing from folk, roots and country blues, he's written songs released on Island / Atlantic and Universal Records as well as music aired on the top three US television networks and HBO. His ability to cross genres with raw honesty and lyrical depth has made him a respected writer covered by local, regional and international artists that include George Kooymans of the multi- platinum band Golden Earring, who recorded "Ticket to Heaven" from Eddie’s first EP and also “Blind Love”, which Sony released as a European single.
His three-chord rocker "Carol Ann" is included in The Essential Western New England Songbook, his co-writes with guitarist David DiPietro including “Victims” and “Child of Sin” became anthems for the hard rock band T.T. Quick, while his alt-country torch ballad "One More Guitar” launched an ad campaign and a signature model acoustic guitar by the Netherlands based Homestead Guitar Company.
Eddie’s work as a multi- instrumentalist includes many projects with New York / Nashville producer Paul Orofino as well as recording and touring with Frank Carillo (Peter Frampton / Tim Hardin), Danny Miranda (Queen), Matt Cartsonis (Warren Zevon), Simon Kirke (Bad Company) and Augie Meyers (Texas Tornados / Bob Dylan), in addition to writing and arranging for film, television, indie and major label releases.
